See in its original language (French) : Dans les années 70, certains véhicules (essentiellement français) se voyaient dotés d'optiques de phare plutôt novateurs, puisque dotés d'un double réflecteur. Du fait que le réflecteur additionnel était placé à la base du réflecteur principal, on leur donna le surnom d'optique 'kangourou'. Il s'agit en fait de phares 'bi-iodes', avec deux ampoules à iode séparées, chacune ayant son propre logement. Le second réflecteur avait le rôle de longue portée. Ce système assez judicieux permettant ainsi de doter son véhicule d'optiques puissants, sans pour autant dénaturer le 'look' de la voiture. Il fut toutefois assez rapidement abandonné, probablement du fait que de plus en plus de constructeurs dotaient leurs véhicules de longues portées intégrées. En trouver en 'New Old Stock' de nos jours n'est franchement pas courant.
